Wonderland realizes that life does not come to a stop when a client comes in for treatment. Making the commitment to receive help and become sober from alcoholism and addiction is an essential step. The problem facing many individuals in the business community is that work does not halt when they make this life-saving choice. The question for an executive is how I can take the time to help myself when I have essential obligations at the workplace. Thankfully, most American employers have become aware of the danger, and they are willing to give an employee the opportunity to enter treatment. They understand on a nut and bolts level that replacing a key employee with an effective track record is much more difficult than offering aid and support. Nevertheless, certain executives have meetings previously scheduled which they cannot miss despite the necessity for treatment. Wonderland is aware of this dilemma, and we have come up with a solution that creates a win-win situation for everyone involved.

Wonderland believes that a client in need of treatment should never have to put off what is a life-saving decision. Unfortunately, there is no hold button when it comes to life, and Wonderland recognizes the importance of a client not jeopardizing their career in order to find recovery. As a result, we have come up with an answer to this age-old dilemma. Through our sober companion program, Wonderland provides the client with the means to realize both necessities at once. When attendance at a business function has been approved by the client’s treatment team, the client may attend with a sober companion. The sober companion takes the client to the meeting and remains at their side. Upon completion, the sober companion transports the client back to Wonderland.

What is essential to point out is that Wonderland will not allow this flexible option to be abused at any point in the treatment program. The process of recovery always comes first. But Wonderland provides the sober companion service in order to allow the busy client with a demanding schedule the opportunity to recover. Alcoholism and addiction are fatal and progressive diseases, and no client should avoid the necessity for treatment on account of external demands. Wonderland is more than willing to work with the client to create the best atmosphere possible for the goal of recovery to be achieved.
